We read the 40 most-viewed free templates on n8n.io, as of 25 September 2026. The check flagged 8 of them. We read each thing it flagged against the file, and 13 of 36 held up, in 5 templates:
- 8 steps that can never run
- 3 open forms or webhooks that lead to a write
- 1 trigger connected to nothing
- 1 value read from a step that does not pass it on
The templates
